Oh, I and DID find the solution to my RAID woes… apparently the nforce raid isn’t true hardware raid, so Linux needs a specific package to support it. >.>

It's giving me an error about... gah, *something* bad, and to fix it I risk losing all the data on it. I spent all night last night (until about 3 in the morning) backing up everything I want to keep (there's a lot of crap I'm not going to bother keeping), and now I'm ready to play with it a bit and see if I can't get it working.
